The calm strength at the heart of the Northstorm is reflected on their deadly coordination on the battlefield. Shoulder to shoulder in the shield wall, or let loose like a ranging pack of wolves, their experience and confidence makes them a formidable force. The Northstorm leader, Marc Becker from Germany, nurtures a dedication to martial training and a great sense of comradeship in his Storm. This is supported by the enthusiasm and expertise of the Northstorm household: non-combatants and craftspeople who bring a fuller dimension to this warrior brotherhood. Marc also encourages a respect for research and historical accuracy when it comes to clothing and equipment, which has led the Northstorm to be valued participants in public shows and demonstrations at museums around Europe. The Northstorm can also be relied upon as experienced showmen at town festivals and as expert extras for any filming work. They are also enthusiastic travellers to fighting events and competitions around the world, particularly in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, the UK, Scandinavia, Poland and Italy.

Their main interest is for the western fighting rule system and codex belli, but also Huscarl and Eastern style. But it is more than just the fighting and historical recreation that puts the Northstorm at the heart of Jomsborg. In Marc's words: the international brotherhood and the comradeship which such a huge, widespread organisation provides, as well as the honour of belonging to one of the world's oldest Viking organisations, leads us to follow Jomsborg's banner.
